Interactive PIR Motion Detector Beam Pattern

The analysis of this motion detector was done with the Sivisti PIR Lensmeter, see Project-029.

This Busch-Wächter movement detector has a wide detection angle due to two pyroelectric sensors (left+right), two internal mirrors (one for each sensor) and two lenses (front + bottom).

In the interactive 3D beam pattern, at the bottom of this page, you can clearly see the difference in sensitivity between the left and right side of the detector. This difference is not intentional but can occur due to deviations in the manufacturing processes of the parts.
